Ministry Internship Program
Cornerstone Church of Long Beach

Paid | 10 Hours per Week
Program Description:
Cornerstone Church of Long Beach is committed to raising up the next generation of church leaders. One of the ways we express this value is through a 9-month paid internship program where students are invited to discern a call to ministry. Throughout the experience staff members invest time, energy, and resources to help interns increase in theological understanding and practical ministry experience.
Interns will serve 10 hours per week and participate in a comprehensive ministry formation process, which includes:
Weekly Intern Cohort Meetings (1 hour)
One-on-one mentorship with an experienced ministry leader
Practical ministry experience in one of the following focus areas:
Children’s Ministry
Youth Ministry
Youth Worship
Local Outreach
Production & Media
Fall and Spring Retreats to strengthen spiritual growth

OPEN INTERN POSITIONS
Cornerstone Internship Program - Youth
Employment Type: Part-time (10 hours/wk), paid
Position Summary: The Youth Intern serves under the authority of the Young Adult and College Pastor. The intern participates actively in all components of Cornerstone's internship program, including executing core responsibilities and participating in more general professional development opportunities. The primary focus of the Intern is to learn through hands-on engagement with church staff, ministry leaders, the church family, and local ministry partners as they discern a call to vocational ministry. The majority of the Intern's focus is on the youth ministry's efforts that advance the church's mission of Loving God,Equipping Believers, Answering God's Call, and Declaring the Good News (L.E.A.D.).
Cornerstone Internship Program – Youth Worship
Employment Type: Part-time (10 hours/wk), paid
Position Summary: The Youth Worship Intern serves under the authority of the Young Adult/College Pastor and works closely with the Worship Ministry Team. The intern actively participates in all components of Cornerstone's internship program, including executing core responsibilities and engaging in general professional development opportunities. The primary focus is to develop as a worship leader by gaining hands-on experience in leading youth worship, supporting the creative aspects of ministry, and learning to disciple others through musical and spiritual leadership. This role directly supports the church's mission of Loving God, Equipping Believers, Answering God's Call, and Declaring the Good News (L.E.A.D.) through the lens of worship in the youth ministry context.
Cornerstone Internship Program – Children’s Ministry
Employment Type: Part-time (10 hours/wk), paid
Position Summary: The Children's Ministry Intern serves under the authority of the Children's Minister. The Intern participates actively in all components of Cornerstone's Intern program including executing core responsibilities and participating in more general professional development opportunities. The primary focus of the Intern is to learn through hands-on engagement with church staff, ministry leaders, the church family and the children of Cornerstone Church as they discern a call to vocational ministry. The majority of the Intern's focus is on children's ministry efforts that advance the church's mission of Loving God, Equipping Believers, Answering God's Call and Declaring the Good News (L.E.A.D.).
Cornerstone Internship Program – Local Outreach
Employment Type: Part-time (10 hours/wk), paid
Position Summary: The Local Outreach Intern serves under the authority of the Local Outreach Minister. The Intern participates actively in all components of Cornerstone's Intern program including executing core responsibilities and participating in more general professional development opportunities. The primary focus of the Intern is to learn through hands-on engagement with church staff, ministry leaders, the church family and local ministry partners as they discern a call to vocational ministry. The majority of the Intern's focus is on local evangelistic efforts that advance the church's mission of Loving God,mEquipping Believers, Answering God's Call and Declaring the Good News (L.E.A.D.).
